President Donald Trump stated that the Iranian nuclear sites targeted by the U.S. military in Operation Midnight Hammer last year were also involved in drug production.

Trump made this assertion while campaigning for Republican candidates at a rally in Oklahoma on Thursday.

During his speech, Trump discussed the success of the June 2025 operation, which resulted in the destruction of three nuclear facilities in Iran. He claimed that these facilities were also responsible for drug production.

The president described the B-2 stealth bombers as having "unloaded every single bomb" into these facilities. He stated, "They were nuclear and drug. They were doing drugs, but they were doing the nuclear. But these drug factories/nuclear factories were hit so hard."

Trump did not provide further details regarding the drug production.

He added, "Those things, you know, granite mountains, granite strong went right down the air chutes. I don’t think they’ll be building too many air chutes from now on. I can tell you that."

The Pentagon executed Operation Midnight Hammer months prior to initiating a full-scale war with Iran. Trump has previously indicated that the operation aimed to prevent the Iranian regime from developing nuclear weapons, describing it as a "spectacular military success" that led to the "complete and total obliteration" of Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

The U.S. conflict with Iran continues as indirect diplomatic negotiations between the two nations have stalled.
