Olivier Martinez has been granted primary custody of his son, Maceo, following allegations against Halle Berry, claiming she choked their 12-year-old son. The restraining order was issued on Thursday, resulting in Berry losing her 50/50 custody arrangement, now limited to daytime visits twice a week and every other weekend. Berry is also required to maintain a distance of 100 yards from Martinez. The next court date is scheduled for October 16.
Berry's attorney denied the allegations, describing the claims as 'entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.' The attorney, Marina Beck, stated that there is substantial evidence showing Martinez has violated court orders and interfered with necessary therapeutic interventions for Maceo. Beck also mentioned that Martinez has a documented history of erratic and violent behavior.
According to court documents, Martinez alleged that on September 26, Berry physically confronted Maceo after criticizing him for playing a game with virtual reality goggles. Martinez claimed that during the altercation, Berry choked Maceo while shouting questions about dominance. Maceo reportedly called Martinez afterward, expressing fear and trauma from the incident.
Berry and Martinez were married for two years before their divorce in October 2015, which took eight years to finalize. Berry was ordered to pay Martinez $8,000 monthly in child support, with additional payments based on her income exceeding $2 million. In his recent filing, Martinez accused Berry of causing Maceo emotional harm through racially charged statements regarding their divorce and child support issues.
