She’s always gone. It’s nothing specific.”</p><p>Wynonna Judd rose to fame as part of the country duo “The Judds” with her late mother, Naomi Judd. After the duo disbanded in 1991, she pursued a solo career.</p><p>Ashley Judd is recognized for her roles in films such as <i>A Time to Kill</i> and <i>Double Jeopardy</i>.</p><p>The sisters, whose mother died by suicide in 2022, have had a complicated relationship over the years.</p><p>In 2012, both Ashley and Naomi Judd were not invited to Wynonna’s wedding to drummer Cactus Moser. Wynonna commented at the time, “Ashley’s probably so busy with [husband] Dario [Franchitti] having won the Indianapolis 500, she probably doesn’t even know.”</p><p>Wynonna added, “We just don’t have a lot of contact right now, if any, because we’re all doing our own thing.”</p><p>Following Naomi Judd’s death, there were reports of a rumored rift regarding the singer’s will, which Wynonna addressed by stating, “I have such a great life. Ashley has such a great life. Why would we be fighting over the will?”</p><p>The sisters also have differing political views. Ashley has been an active Democratic supporter, while Wynonna has been less vocal about her political stance. Rosie O’Donnell, a long-time friend of Wynonna, noted that Wynonna is supportive of Donald Trump.</p><p>Wynonna distanced herself from Ashley’s anti-Trump poem at the 2017 Women’s March, stating, “I am not my sister’s keeper. The end.”</p><p>In a 2025 interview, Wynonna mentioned that she and Ashley were “not as close as I’d like to be,” attributing this to their success taking them in different directions. She noted that songs on her new album reflect her childhood experiences with Ashley.</p><p>“I remember the good times with Ashley, and the times we were hungry,” she said. “We made up for it in music and fellowship and food.
