A Florida teenager was seriously injured while filming a TikTok video in the middle of a busy road. The incident occurred on Sunday night in Ocala, Florida, when the 18-year-old was getting a haircut in the median of SW College Road outside a shopping plaza. According to the Ocala Police Department, the teen was struck by a pickup truck after a collision between a Chevy Silverado and a Lexus SUV at around 8:10 p.m.
Emergency responders transported the teen to a local hospital, where he is listed in serious condition. Police stated that neither driver showed signs of intoxication and are investigating the cause of the crash.
Witnesses reported hearing tires screeching before the impact. One of the haircutters described the moment, stating, "We were chillin’ right there, and I was givin’ my boy a haircut. Next thing you know, I’m on the ground. We’re pancakes and flapjacks, flying."
Another witness, Yaj Lerom, expressed concern over the trend of dangerous stunts for social media, suggesting that content creators should be more responsible. "The likes ain’t worth your life," he stated.
The two other men involved in the haircutting stunt noted that they had initially planned to set up in the lanes of traffic but chose the median for safety. Ocala Police spokesperson Jeff Walczak emphasized that such activities are not advisable.
