A Polish news station captured an incident in which a driver struck a 14-year-old girl riding an e-bike while a reporter was covering a different fatal car crash. The incident occurred on a country road in Kościerzyna. The motorist collided with the girl, breaking the car's windshield and causing her to be thrown from her bike, as reported by the US Sun.
Reporter Miłosz Sieliwończyk was live on air for TVP.info, discussing a separate fatal accident that had resulted in the death of a young boy, when the crash involving the teenager happened behind him.
Sieliwończyk recounted, "At one point, I heard a bang behind me and the operator’s shout: ‘Oh Jesus!’" He turned to see a car leaving the scene with a damaged windshield and the girl on the ground.
After the driver fled, Sieliwończyk instructed his cameraman to capture the vehicle's license plate for police reporting and went to assist the injured girl. He noted, "We approached the girl. She was unable to stand. I saw blood stains on the scooter."
Emergency responders arrived within three minutes, and the girl requested to call her mother, who arrived shortly thereafter on a bicycle. The driver returned to the scene a few moments later, reportedly in shock. Sieliwończyk stated, "He must have been in shock, too, because he got out of the car and asked if something had happened."
