This poll follows a previous Marist poll released on September 26, which showed Talarico leading Paxton by six points, with Talarico receiving 50 percent support compared to Paxton's 44 percent.
In the Stratus poll, Paxton, the Republican Texas attorney general, has a favorable rating of 41 percent and an unfavorable rating of 55 percent. In contrast, Talarico, a Democratic state legislator, has a 46 percent favorable rating and a 49 percent unfavorable rating. The survey also revealed that Paxton leads among voters aged 55 and older, while Talarico has more support from younger voters.
