Venezuelan man charged with assaulting federal officer after being shot by ICE agent in Texas

According to a criminal complaint filed by federal prosecutors, Garcés Pérez is accused of striking an officer with the side mirror of his vehicle while attempting to flee. He made an initial court appearance in Austin federal court on September 29, and his attorney has stated that he still has a bullet lodged in his back from the shooting.
