<p class="wp-block-paragraph">President Donald Trump told reporters on September 29, 2026, that he plans to rebrand artificial intelligence as "super intelligence."</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">"We’re going to be signing a document today at about 5 o’clock, renaming artificial intelligence because it’s not artificial," Trump stated while accompanied by tech leaders including Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. "We all agree on that, and we’re going to be renaming it ‘super intelligence,’ officially renaming it, and that’ll come out at 5 o’clock today."</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These comments were made during a White House lunch hosted by Trump with government officials and business leaders to discuss concerns regarding AI. Attendees included House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), Vice President JD Vance, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and other Cabinet members.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The meeting occurred as Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has called for congressional leaders to help slow the development of AI due to concerns about its potential risks.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Trump downplayed these concerns in his remarks to reporters.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">"The one thing that we all have in common is we love our country, and we love the world, and we want to make sure it’s a safe place," the president said. "And what we’re talking about today will make it a better place and a much safer place."</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The president emphasized the importance of the U.S. maintaining its leadership in the AI sector compared to China.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">"We have a very big lead, and we’re going to keep our lead, and it’s a very positive thing," Trump said. "It’s an amazing industry. There are those that say it’s bigger than the industrial revolution."</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Trump also mentioned the Justice Department and the FBI as key regulators of AI while responding to questions from reporters.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Earlier that day, Trump signed an executive order directing all federal government agencies to integrate their public-facing services with America.gov.</p>
