Investigation Continues into Nancy Guthrie's Abduction with New Possible Ransom Note

According to NewsNation, the department did not disclose who received the note or when it was sent.</p><p>In July, authorities made public two other ransom notes that were sent to a Tucson television station shortly after Guthrie disappeared.</p><video id="cTtwz9SL" poster="https://cdn.jwplayer.com/v2/media/cTtwz9SL/poster.jpg"><source src="https://cdn.jwplayer.com/videos/cTtwz9SL.mp4" type="video/mp4" /></video><p>The first note, sent on February 2, claimed that Guthrie was safe but scared and would be released unharmed once her captors received $4 million in cryptocurrency. The second note, sent on February 6, stated that Guthrie died shortly after her kidnapping. Authorities have not confirmed whether they believe she is still alive.</p><p>The FBI has previously indicated that not every note received is considered credible. “Some have been deemed to be extortion attempts without legitimacy,” the bureau stated. “Other ransom demands may potentially be legitimate and are still being investigated as such.”</p><p>No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
