Sylvester Stallone discusses challenges of making a career in today's Hollywood

<p>Sylvester Stallone stated he would be in "big trouble" if he were trying to make his career in today's Hollywood. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning's Tracy Smith, Stallone was asked if he believed he would achieve the same success today as he did 50 years ago.</p><p>"No. It's a whole different mindset. The actors look different, they act different. The subject matter, I couldn't relate to," Stallone said. He compared the current landscape to the iconic 1972 film, "The Godfather," suggesting that casting it today would be challenging.</p><p>Stallone also reflected on what his life might have been like if "Rocky" had not been successful. He humorously remarked, "I would have been in a cell somewhere," or involved in husbandry with animals, as he felt he related to them.</p><p>"Rocky," released in 1976, became a cultural phenomenon, earning over $225 million worldwide and winning the Academy Award for Best Picture. Stallone wrote and starred in the film, receiving Oscar nominations for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay.</p><p>He mentioned that he has always lived by "Murphy's Law," which states, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." This mindset influences his behavior, such as knowing the route to the fire escape when staying in hotels with his wife, Jennifer Flavin.</p><p>Stallone and Flavin, who married in May 1997, have three daughters: Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet. They briefly separated in 2022 but reconciled a month later.</p><p>Currently, Stallone is preparing to release his memoir, "The Steps," on September 29. When asked about the greatest "step" of his life, he emphasized the importance of the first step in any journey.</p>
