Prince William Will Not Participate in Documentary for 30th Anniversary of Diana's Death

Prince William will not appear in a television documentary to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his mother, Princess Diana's death, according to royal sources. However, he has decided against appearing on screen to prevent further conflict with his brother, Prince Harry. William reportedly does not want the brothers to be 'pitted against each other' in a film and remains 'really emotional' about Diana's death, as reported by The Sunday Times. The brothers previously appeared together in the ITV documentary 'Diana, Our Mother: Her Life And Legacy' in 2017. At that time, William stated that they 'won't speak as openly or publicly about her again.' William is said to view the upcoming anniversary as 'a difficult situation for him' but believes that his tributes to Diana in 2017 served as a public 'catharsis.' The brothers have not communicated since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022. Meanwhile, Harry is reportedly exploring various ways to commemorate Diana's legacy, including potential participation from her friends and family, such as her brother, Earl Spencer. Harry's plans for a commemorative film have not been confirmed, and he is still considering meaningful ways to honor his mother's legacy during this significant anniversary year. A source close to Harry indicated that he has discussed several possible projects, but nothing has been finalized. The documentary could potentially be produced through Harry and Meghan's Archewell Productions, which has a first-look agreement with Netflix. The Daily Mail has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment, but a spokesman stated that they would not comment on how the Prince of Wales will mark the anniversary.
