Helicopter crash in Quebec results in four fatalities

Four people were killed on Saturday when a helicopter crashed and caught fire in Quebec’s Montérégie region, according to authorities. The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. in the Rang des Écossais sector of Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville, following reports that the aircraft had 'experienced difficulties,' as stated by Agence QMI. Emergency crews, including firefighters, responded to the scene. Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau informed QMI that, 'According to the initial assessment, the four occupants died.' As of late Saturday afternoon, authorities had not publicly identified the victims. Additionally, the make, model, registration, and operator of the helicopter have not been disclosed, nor have details about the flight's origin and destination. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified of the incident.
