Two Cuban Nationals Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Firearm Possession

<p>Two Cuban nationals, Cesar Valdes, 89, and Magdaleno Medina, 73, were arrested in Miami for allegedly selling drugs and possessing stolen firearms. Police reported that both men had been in the United States illegally for over 45 years.</p><p>The arrests followed an undercover operation where Medina allegedly sold $60 worth of cocaine to an officer on August 19. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant at their residence on September 9, discovering multiple bags of cocaine and marijuana, ammunition, stolen firearms, and over $4,800 in cash.</p><p>According to an ICE spokesperson, both men entered the U.S. near Key West, Florida, in May 1980. Medina has four prior felony convictions related to drug offenses, and an immigration judge issued him a final order of exclusion on July 24, 1996. Valdes has a history of charges in Miami-Dade County, including cocaine possession, with a final order of exclusion issued on March 10, 1993.</p><p>Medina faces eight felony charges, including possession of cocaine with intent to sell and illegal possession of a firearm, while Valdes faces five similar charges. Both men are currently detained in a Miami jail with ICE detainers. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges, and their attorney has declined to comment.</p><p>An ICE spokesperson stated, "Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, if you break the law, you will face the consequences. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S. We will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you."</p>
