CNN Excluded from Air Force One Pool During Trump's Tennessee Trip

<p>CNN has been barred from traveling on Air Force One with President Donald Trump and the White House press pool during the president’s trip to Tennessee on Saturday, according to the outlet.</p> <p>CNN reported on Friday that it was supposed to be part of the television pool traveling with Trump to Knoxville, Tennessee, on Saturday as he attends the University of Tennessee vs. University of Texas college football game. However, CNN was excluded from the list of pool outlets designated as covering the trip, according to the outlet.</p> <p>This incident is part of Trump’s ongoing attempts to restrict access for CNN, Politico, and MS Now from the White House. Earlier in the week, CNN was also barred from traveling with Trump on Air Force One to New York City for the U.N. General Assembly as part of the TV pool.</p> <p>A federal judge temporarily reinstated access for the outlets to White House grounds on Thursday morning. Trump-appointed Judge Timothy Kelly of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., ordered that the White House must reinstate the affected reporters’ press credentials and issued a 14-day temporary restraining order on the president’s ban. However, Kelly’s order did not directly address the issue of the traveling White House press pool.</p> <p>The White House press pool resumed coverage of Trump on Friday after a brief hiatus imposed in solidarity with the three banned outlets, following the White House allowing the media back on the premises.</p> <p>CNN covered an in-town pool assignment on Friday, following Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to the National Archives. However, the outlet was barred from Trump’s Thursday night state dinner with Xi, along with MS Now.</p> <p>Real America’s Voice News replaced CNN for the coverage of Trump’s football game visit on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.</p> <p>The Washington Examiner has reached out to the White House for comment.</p>
