Ree Drummond's son arrested on drug and assault charges in Alabama

<p>Jamar Goff, the foster son of TV personality Ree Drummond, was arrested in Alabama on September 15. According to an inmate record, Goff, 23, was taken into custody at the University of Alabama Birmingham on charges of drug possession and second-degree assault on a police officer.</p><p>He is also facing charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude a police officer. Goff is currently held at Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama, with a bond set at $35,000.</p><p>Court documents indicate that officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on campus and found Goff sleeping shirtless on a bench near a fountain. When approached, Goff allegedly stated he was on campus to wait for someone to sell him methamphetamine, referred to as "ice" in the documents.</p><p>Initially, officers allowed Goff to leave, but upon discovering an outstanding warrant for his arrest, they attempted to handcuff him. Goff then allegedly fled and struck an officer with an open palm.</p><p>Following the incident, officers searched Goff's backpack and reportedly found a glass pipe. A subsequent search of his person revealed 1.8 grams of methamphetamine.</p><p>Ree Drummond began fostering Goff in November 2020, as mentioned in her book, "Frontier Follies." She noted that Goff had been living with her family for about a year and a half and had become an integral part of their family.</p><p>Drummond expressed her desire to protect Goff's privacy, stating that the state agency overseeing fostering has strict rules against posting about foster children on social media. She emphasized wanting Goff's story to be his own and not subject to public scrutiny.</p><p>In addition to Goff, Drummond and her husband, Ladd, have four biological children: Alex, 29, Paige, 27, Bryce, 24, and Todd, 22.</p>
