Man Sentenced for Taking Indecent Images and Using AI to Alter Them

Zafer Dogan, 32, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at Wood Green Crown Court for taking thousands of images of women and children and using AI to digitally alter them. He was arrested on July 16 for offences involving indecent images of children and had taken as many as 5,000 images, many of which were taken without the subjects' consent. Dogan's actions included photographing children from his bedroom window and using AI to create sexualized content from the images. Despite the police and CPS opposing his bail on three occasions, the courts allowed him to return to his flat, which led to victims' families relocating for safety. The court heard victim impact statements from the mothers of two child victims, expressing their distress and fear for their children's safety. Dogan pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography. The case has highlighted issues regarding the justice system's handling of dangerous offenders and the impact on victims.
