Wetherspoon staff have been turning away up to 20 tourists daily as scammers use the pub's address as a fake Booking.com holiday apartment, according to consumer protection organization Which?. Paul Dawson, a theatre-goer from Loughborough, Leicestershire, fell victim to a phishing attack after booking a one-night stay at a supposed luxury London apartment, only to find the address was actually The Liberty Bounds pub near Tower Bridge. Dawson paid £73 for the booking to watch the musical Hamilton in the West End.
