Trump TV Launches as a 24/7 Streaming Channel

<p>The White House has launched a 24/7 streaming channel called Trump TV, aimed at providing a platform for President Trump to communicate directly with the public. This launch coincided with major TV networks suspending White House pool coverage, which left one of Trump's speeches airing without sound.</p><p>Trump TV is described as a round-the-clock highlight reel of the president's speeches and executive actions, rather than a traditional news network. The channel went live on the White House's YouTube account, its official app, and WhiteHouse.gov.</p><p>According to Kaelan Dorr, deputy assistant to the president, Trump TV is branded as "TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station" and features a livestream of the administration's notable moments. Initial programming included Trump's July 3 speech at Mount Rushmore and footage of his 2025 inauguration. Reports indicate that 8,500 viewers tuned in during the first hour, with around 1,200 viewers watching a health care announcement later in the week.</p><p>The stream is designed to carry live events, such as Vice President Vance's briefing on fraud claims. However, during Trump's address to the United Nations General Assembly, the channel was replaying a previous speech from the National Prayer Breakfast.</p><p>Currently, Trump TV does not have anchors, news tickers, or headline chyrons. Instead, it includes banners encouraging viewers to text White House officials. It remains unclear who is responsible for staffing the channel, making programming decisions, or setting the schedule.</p><p>A White House official stated that the channel aims to showcase Trump's "greatest hits that the media fails to cover fairly, oftentimes on purpose." The revamped livestream page labels the regular feed as "CH 45" and Trump TV as "CH 47," referencing Trump's terms as the 45th and 47th president.</p><p>Previously, Trump has engaged in direct-to-audience video initiatives, including a Facebook Live show called "Trump Tower Live" during his 2016 campaign. Additionally, Trump Media's Truth+ offers 24/7 news streams and on-demand entertainment, which is separate from the official government stream.</p>
