"I think we need an amended and updated Constitution. It was written in 1781, I believe, and life is just so much different now," Paul stated. He elaborated that as weapon systems become more advanced, traditional firearms may not suffice for citizens to defend themselves against potential government overreach.
Paul mentioned specific advanced weaponry, including drone EMPs and RPGs, as examples of what he believes civilians should have access to. He expressed concern that without such capabilities, citizens could become powerless against their own government.
The Pentagon has increasingly engaged with celebrities and influencers, with previous events including military personnel attending UFC events at the White House. Paul also met with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during his visit, who remarked on Paul's journey from content creator to entrepreneur and professional boxer.
