Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sustains knee injury during game against Rams

<p>The New York Giants are evaluating the status of quarterback Jaxson Dart after he sustained a knee injury during the first series of the Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Rams.</p><p>Dart, in his second NFL season, injured his left knee on a hit from Rams defenders in the first quarter. The low hit caused his left knee to bend in an unnatural manner.</p><p>Additionally, receiver Malik Nabers left the game after an incomplete pass, clutching his right shoulder, but returned after missing one series.</p><p>Both Dart and Nabers are officially questionable to return, although it is unlikely that Dart will return. The quarterback was seen on the ground holding his knee after the hit, which raised concerns about the severity of the injury.</p><p>Fortunately, Dart's leg was not planted on the turf at the time of the hit, which may reduce the likelihood of a season-ending ACL tear.</p><p>According to an NFL source, there is a possibility that Dart may have suffered some form of MCL injury. If confirmed, he would not require surgery but would miss some time.</p><p>Dart limped off the field and was initially treated in the medical tent, with teammates gathered outside. He was later escorted to the locker room while limping but was able to walk under his own power.</p><p>Backup quarterback Jameis Winston replaced Dart during the game.</p>
