Lindsay Clancy's Defense Requests Investigation into Holdout Juror

<p>Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney has filed a motion requesting an investigation into the juror who did not agree to a not guilty verdict in the case concerning the deaths of her three children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan.</p><p>On September 21, attorney Kevin Reddington urged a judge to preserve records from all 12 jurors, including juror questionnaires, surveillance video from outside the deliberation room, and sign-in sheets for the jurors’ electronic devices, according to Fox News.</p><p>Reddington is focusing on Michael P. Desronvil, the juror who did not align with the majority of the panel, which consisted of nine women and two men, in finding Clancy not criminally responsible for the deaths of her children.</p><p>Reddington is seeking personal information about Desronvil, including his juror questionnaire, probation records, and any records from the statewide domestic violence registry. He also requested the judge to investigate whether prosecutors had any contact with Desronvil and to order an examination of his phone records during the deliberation period, as reported by Fox News.</p><p>This request follows Desronvil's decision to retain attorney Edward Paltzik, who has represented former President Donald Trump in various lawsuits. Desronvil has remained largely silent since the mistrial declared on September 4.</p><p>Paltzik stated, “I can now confirm that I am representing the courageous and heroic lone holdout juror from the Lindsay Clancy Trial. He is an American Hero and Champion of Justice.” He added that Desronvil is “safe and sound” at a secure location in Northern New England and plans to take legal action against those he describes as “evil people” attacking Desronvil.</p><p>Desronvil has faced criticism from other jurors, who described him as “arrogant” and disengaged. He has disputed these claims, stating he attempted to present alternative theories but was interrupted by other jurors.</p><p>Desronvil expressed confidence in his stance, saying, “I didn’t have any doubts. Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she knew exactly what she was doing and planned.”</p><p>Desronvil has also been scrutinized for past allegations, including a previously dismissed domestic violence charge and a restraining order. Although he has never been convicted of a crime, the defense may argue that he should not have served on the jury. Reddington had previously sought to have Desronvil removed from the jury, but the state’s highest court denied his request.</p><p>Desronvil's brother reported that the media attention has led to harassment of their family, stating, “My family cannot leave the house. They are leaving notes at my mother’s house. They won’t leave us alone, and we don’t know anything. People have been calling me like crazy. It’s crazy.”</p>
