<p class="wp-block-paragraph">President Donald Trump criticized critics of his artificial intelligence policies and pledged to support the industry's growth on Monday, indicating that the federal government would not intervene to regulate AI.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Concerns regarding AI have intensified this month as industry researchers and engineers expressed worries about the rapid advancement of the technology and its potential risks.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Trump has promoted the growth of American AI companies since returning to office, comparing AI skeptics to climate activists. He stated, “The same people that said, ‘We’ll all be dead in twelve years because of Global Warming,’ a name since ‘reborn’ to Climate Change, because the Planet was cooling, not warming, and nobody was dead, are the people that are now saying that AI is going to kill us, that robots are going to attack us, and everything is a DISASTER,” in a post on Truth Social. He further described these concerns as a “Hoax.”</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">He emphasized the importance of AI, saying, “Whoever wins AI, WINS! We are leading now over China, and everyone else, and I’m going to keep it that way! I’m not going to stifle Growth, of something that will be bigger than the Industrial Revolution, or the Internet, itself.” Trump added that while he would encourage AI development, there would be oversight from the Department of Justice and other law enforcement agencies if necessary.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Despite his defense of AI, Trump acknowledged the growing public concerns about the industry.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Over the weekend, he suggested the establishment of an AI Force, similar to the Space Force created during his first term, to address safety concerns raised by experts and American AI companies.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Additionally, the president engaged his followers on social media by posting polls to rank alternative names for AI, hinting at a potential rebranding effort.</p>
