<p>New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has pledged $2 million to humanitarian relief efforts after rapper Macklemore was removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour. Kraft's commitment follows Macklemore's claim that he was removed from the tour due to Kraft's alleged influence regarding a performance at Gillette Stadium.</p><p>Kraft stated, "I have dedicated much of my life to building bridges between all people. I believe deeply that all lives are worth protecting," in a statement shared on the official Gillette Stadium social media page. He mentioned that Ed Sheeran contacted him to match Macklemore's donation to aid in the region amid a humanitarian crisis.</p><p>Kraft also expressed his long-standing support for initiatives that create opportunities for Palestinians and foster relationships between Palestinians and Israelis. This announcement came after Macklemore declared he would donate $1 million to a Palestinian organization and challenged Kraft to match it.</p><p>Macklemore's previous comments on stage, where he expressed support for Palestine, led to backlash and his removal from the tour. During a performance, he stated, "A big part of the reason why I wanted to do this tour in the first place is so I could stand up in stadiums like this and say two words that are very near and dear to my heart: ‘Free Palestine.’" After his removal, Macklemore accused Kraft, who is Jewish, of orchestrating his exit from the tour.</p><p>Macklemore claimed that Kraft had influenced other venue owners to prevent him from performing, stating, "Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium." The Messina Touring Group, promoting the tour, confirmed that multiple venues had indicated they would not host a concert with Macklemore in the lineup, leading to his removal after discussions with stakeholders.</p><p>Kraft acknowledged that Gillette Stadium had refused to host Macklemore, attributing the decision to a broader history of antisemitic rhetoric. He stated, "Gillette Stadium has a longstanding commitment to providing a welcoming environment for all guests and ensuring that events held at our venue do not provide a platform for hate speech." Kraft emphasized that the decision was not intended to diminish the suffering of innocent Palestinians but to ensure that advocacy does not come at the expense of the Jewish community.</p><p>He also noted that Macklemore had presented selective information regarding the situation and offered to meet with him to discuss the facts. Kraft concluded, "I would welcome the opportunity to sit down with Macklemore and discuss the facts, because ultimately our goal is the same — peace for all people, an end to suffering, and an end to all hate."</p>
