Oregon Police Officer Shot During Domestic Disturbance Response, Multiple Fatalities Reported

<p>An Oregon police officer was shot multiple times on Sunday while responding to a domestic disturbance that resulted in several fatalities, according to authorities.</p><p>Officers from the Sandy Police Department and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office arrived at the 39000 block of Evans Street in Sandy, approximately 30 miles east of Portland, around 4 p.m. after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance and shooting.</p><p>Upon arrival, gunfire erupted, and one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was airlifted to a hospital by Life Flight and is expected to survive, as confirmed by the Sandy Police Department.</p><p>Sandy Police Chief Patrick Huskey stated at a news conference that the officer is in stable condition and is expected to recover. He also noted that there are multiple deceased victims, although authorities have not disclosed the number of victims or the circumstances of their deaths.</p><p>The suspect barricaded themselves inside the residence, prompting a significant response from various law enforcement agencies and shelter-in-place orders for nearby residents.
