Michigan High School Policy Requires Female Students to Disclose Menstrual Cycle Details

<p>Students are required to disclose information if they wish to make up swimming days lost due to their periods.</p><p>A Michigan high school is facing scrutiny after parents raised concerns over a gym class policy that requires female students to disclose details about their menstrual cycles in order to make up swimming days missed because of their periods.</p><p>According to the policy, which is included in the Lakeview High School gym syllabus, female students who miss swimming classes because of their periods must have a parent submit a written note or email that identifies the length of their menstrual cycle before they are allowed to make up the missed swimming days.</p>
