Timothy J. Reaggle, 20, attempted to escape from the Columbiana County Court in Ohio on September 17, 2026, shortly after being sentenced to one year in prison for a separate case. Video footage from the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office shows Reaggle breaking free from his handcuffs, punching a bailiff in the throat, and attacking deputies as he attempted to flee. He knocked one deputy to the ground and ran towards a stairwell, where he stumbled and was briefly detained before escaping again. Officers eventually subdued him with a Taser and physical restraint.
Following the incident, two deputies were reported to have sustained broken bones and were treated at a hospital. Sheriff Brian McLaughlin stated that Reaggle is currently held at the Columbiana County Jail and is expected to face additional charges, including assault on a police officer and felony escape. Reaggle was in court for a February 2025 incident involving a home invasion and assault on residents. He had previously pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including aggravated burglary and aggravated assault, before his sentencing.
