Inmate Attempts Escape After Sentencing, Injures Deputies

<p>Video footage shows an Ohio man, Timothy J. Reaggle, 20, attempting to escape from a courthouse after being sentenced to one year in prison. The incident occurred on September 16, 2026, shortly after Reaggle learned of his sentence in a separate case.</p><p>According to Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McLaughlin, Reaggle allegedly attacked two deputies, resulting in both suffering broken bones. They have since been released from the hospital.</p><p>The video released by the sheriff's office depicts a deputy escorting Reaggle down a hallway when he breaks free from his handcuffs, punches the deputy, and runs away. During his escape attempt, he collided with another deputy, knocking him to the ground.</p><p>Reaggle proceeded toward the courthouse exit, where he slid down the steps and attempted to reach the front doors before being subdued with a Taser and taken back into custody.</p><p>Witnesses can be seen rushing to assist the injured deputies, with one deputy reported to be bleeding from the head and holding a paper towel against his face.</p><p>Reaggle had previously pleaded guilty to charges including aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, aggravated menacing, failure to comply, and two misdemeanor counts of assault. He is currently held at the Columbiana County Jail and will be transported to state prison. He is also facing potential new charges related to the courthouse incident, including assault on a police officer and felony escape.</p>
