Morris emphasized the need for her child's needs to be met and criticized the school's environment for negatively impacting students' mental health. Another parent, Ann-Marie Ramsey, described the discipline as 'crazy' and noted that her child was not receiving necessary movement breaks when sent to a reset room for discipline. Jeffries defended the suspensions, stating that they were not related to uniform or lateness, and emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards and a safe learning environment. Some parents, like Liz Halliwell, supported the new approach, expressing that they appreciated the consistency in rules. However, students like Liam Backhurst criticized the suspensions, stating that they have affected students' motivation and mental well-being. Jeffries highlighted that the 25 suspensions occurred within a student population of 1,400 and noted that the number of suspensions should be viewed in context.
