Helicopter crash in Los Angeles results in three fatalities and one injury

A television news helicopter crashed in Los Angeles while covering a traffic collision, resulting in at least three fatalities, including one individual on the ground. A fourth person has been transported to the hospital, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The helicopter, identified as NewsChopper4 and owned by NBC Los Angeles (KNBC-TV), was providing aerial coverage of a deadly crash involving a metro bus and another vehicle. The incident occurred between two commercial buildings in Chatsworth, Los Angeles. Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the victims. The live broadcast captured moments leading up to the crash, including an alert-like sound before the helicopter began to descend, after which the broadcast was interrupted. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department stated that the helicopter crashed into a parking lot, impacting several parked vehicles. Four cars and two storage containers sustained damage, but the fire did not extend to any buildings. More than 50 firefighters responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire. Video footage from the scene shows the helicopter engulfed in flames as firefighters worked to manage the situation. The circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
