Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski have announced their separation after nine years of marriage. They confirmed the news in a statement to People on Tuesday, stating, "We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever — and it’s GOOD." Page Six has reached out to their representatives for further comment.
Shortly before the announcement, Seyfried, 40, shared a photo of Sadoski, 50, on her Instagram Stories, featuring him with her bearded dragon, Romeo, captioning it, "@thomassadoski is #reptiledad." She also posted a quote on her Instagram Stories that read, "There’s really not a difficult thing unless you decide it’s a difficult thing. Otherwise, it’s just the next thing you’re figuring out."
Sadoski revealed during a March 2017 appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" that he and Seyfried had eloped, stating, "We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing." He added, "Listen, she’s the person I love, admire, respect most in the world."
The couple first met in 2015 while starring together in the off-Broadway play "The Way We Get By" and later co-starred in the 2017 film "The Last Word." In November 2025, Seyfried mentioned the challenges of balancing her acting career with raising their two children — daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas, 5. She noted, "This is the most I’ve ever worked with two kids, and I’ve never had two movies come out at the same time," referring to her 2025 films "The Housemaid" and "The Testament of Ann Lee."
In January, she acknowledged in a Vogue interview that Sadoski "sacrifices a lot" for her, stating, "He also knows that, in this moment, the opportunities I’m being afforded are insane." Sadoski is Seyfried’s first husband, while he was previously married to casting director Kimberly Hope, with whom he split in October 2015 after eight years of marriage.
