US Space Force Confirms Deployment of Weapons in Space

The US Space Force has confirmed for the first time that the United States has weapons deployed in space. A spokesperson stated, "The US has on-orbit space control weapons capable of defending the Joint Force against hostile adversary action," but did not provide specifics on the types of weapons. The Space Force emphasized that its mission includes both offensive and defensive capabilities in the space domain. US Air Force Secretary Troy Meink also acknowledged the existence of these weapons during a conference. The Space Force justified the deployment by citing threats from Russia and China, stating that both countries are enhancing their military capabilities in space. In response, China urged the US to cease its military preparations in outer space, warning against an arms race.
