DHS Officers Report Concerns Over Voter Database Searches and Data Reliability

<p>Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officers were instructed to search state voter databases and create federal records on suspected non-citizen voters, according to an anonymous whistleblower. The whistleblower revealed that DHS lawyers informed the officers that they would not face consequences for violating state laws regarding access to voter registration information.</p><p>Additionally, the whistleblower indicated that DHS officers expressed concerns about the reliability of the data they were using. The investigation into non-citizen voting has intensified under the Trump administration in the lead-up to the midterm elections. However, non-citizen voting is reported to be very rare, with only a few cases identified thus far.</p>
