Brock Bowers to Miss First Two Games of Season Due to Injury

Brock Bowers, a third-year tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders, will miss the team's first two games of the season following a procedure on his meniscus in Dallas, Texas. His girlfriend, Cameron Newell, shared a photo on Instagram of Bowers, who was seen giving a 'hang loose' sign while wearing a sleeve on his left knee. This knee had previously been injured last season, leading to a PCL/bone bruise that resulted in him being placed on injured reserve and missing the final two games of the previous season. Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak had earlier expressed optimism about the team's readiness for the upcoming game, stating, 'We’re expecting to have all our guys ready for Sunday.' Bowers, selected 13th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, had a strong start to his career, recording 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie season. Last season, he played in 12 games, achieving 64 receptions for 680 yards and seven touchdowns. With Bowers unavailable, fourth-year veteran Michael Mayer, a former second-round pick in 2023, is expected to take over as the starting tight end.
