Virginia GOP Leader Criticizes County Program for Families of Deported Immigrants

Matthew Hurtt, chairman of the Arlington County GOP, has criticized a new program in Arlington County that allocates $50,000 in taxpayer funds to support families of undocumented immigrants whose primary wage earners have been detained or deported. The program, which provides grants through the nonprofit Arlington Thrive, has been described by Hurtt as a 'slush fund' that contradicts the Trump administration's immigration policies.
