Lori Loughlin files for divorce from Mossimo Giannulli after nearly 29 years of marriage

<p>Lori Loughlin filed for divorce from her estranged husband Mossimo Giannulli, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital. The actress submitted a petition for dissolution of marriage before the Labor Day weekend.</p><p>Loughlin, 62, indicated their date of separation as August 31, 2025, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for divorce.</p><p>She requested to "reserve for future determination" regarding spousal support. The couple married on November 27, 1997, nearly 29 years ago.</p><p>Loughlin confirmed separate property in assets and debts as per a prenuptial agreement signed in October 1997, and requested a judge to determine the rights to community property according to the prenup.</p><p>Both parties will be responsible for their individual attorney's fees. The documents state, "Respondent respectfully requests that, with respect to any issue submitted to the Court for determination, the Court include in the Statement of Decision any and all calculations upon which the determination of any issues made, including but not limited to, spousal support, property characterization, credit and reimbursements, property division, tax consequences and attorneys' fees and costs."</p><p>The couple shares two adult daughters, Olivia Jade and Bella Rose.</p><p>Representatives for Loughlin and Giannulli did not immediately respond to requests for comment.</p><p>Loughlin confirmed their separation in October, stating through her representative that "Lori and Mossimo are living apart. There are no legal proceedings underway."</p><p>Their separation occurred five years after they were involved in the Operation Varsity Blues scandal, where they pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud for paying bribes to secure their daughters' admissions to the University of Southern California.</p><p>Loughlin served nearly three months in prison, while Giannulli served five months. They were released in December 2020 and April 2021, respectively.</p><p>In an interview on the "Good Guys" podcast in October 2025, John Stamos defended Loughlin, describing Giannulli as "a terrible narcissist" and Loughlin as "a saint." He suggested that she was not significantly involved in the scandal, stating that Giannulli "dragged her through that." Stamos remarked, "She goes to f---ing prison for this a--hole for three months, right? And he goes for whatever." He added that Loughlin met many nice people in prison and participated in a book club.</p>
