Malachi Fields Receives Comparisons to Plaxico Burress from Coach Adam Mims

Adam Mims, a wide receivers coach at Virginia, commented on the comparisons between Malachi Fields and former NFL player Plaxico Burress. Mims stated, "Obviously Malachi has a ways to go, but I think that he has all of the talent, all of the natural ability and the skill set to have a really, really good career in the NFL. If he can stay healthy, if he can just be who he is, he’s gonna have a long career, and he’s gonna do a lot of good things in New York." Fields, who is 6-foot-4 and weighs 222 pounds, is set to start as a third-round rookie opposite Malik Nabers in the regular-season opener against the Cowboys. Mims played a key role in Fields' transition from quarterback to wide receiver when he arrived at Virginia. Fields met Burress during his final college season at Notre Dame, where Burress was 6-5 and weighed 231 pounds.
