Jamie and Eda Pierce have initiated legal proceedings against former homeowners Paul and Elizabeth Nott after discovering a caravan site established near their property in Pootings, Kent. The couple purchased the five-bedroom home for £3.15 million in August 2022, having negotiated a £245,000 reduction from the original asking price of £3.395 million. They allege that the Notts failed to disclose knowledge of plans for the caravan site, which they claim was set up illegally just yards from their home on August 22, 2025.
The Pierces assert that they specifically inquired about any plans to alter neighboring land and were told by the Notts' solicitor that there were none. They have since uncovered emails suggesting that Paul Nott was involved in efforts to prevent the development of the caravan site, which was sold to a businessman with connections to the traveller community.
The couple is seeking to have their sale contract annulled and to recover their purchase price along with additional expenses related to the home. They claim the presence of the caravan site has rendered their property worthless and has significantly disrupted their quality of life. The Notts have not yet responded to the lawsuit. Local residents have expressed concerns about the impact of the caravan site, citing noise and disturbances since its establishment.
