Funeral Held for 100 Palestinians Recovered from Rubble in Gaza

Families in Gaza conducted a mass funeral for 100 individuals whose bodies were recovered from the rubble in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City. The funeral procession took place on Sunday and was attended by thousands, including relatives of the deceased. The remains were displayed near the ruins of their homes, covered with Palestinian flags. According to local authorities, the victims belonged to the Rahim, Balawi, Malaka, Qanbour, and Salmi families, who were killed during Israeli strikes on residential homes approximately two and a half years ago. Recent recovery operations have also uncovered over 100 bodies from the Abu Shariah and Hassaniya families, who died in a single strike, and more than 500 bodies from the al-Taj Tower site, as reported by officials and activists. Gaza’s Health Ministry has stated that at least 73,651 Palestinians have been killed and 174,592 injured since October 2023.
