ICE Officer Charged with Lying to Investigators in Shooting Case

Christian Castro, an officer with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has been indicted on charges of lying to investigators regarding the shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis, a Venezuelan man, during an immigration operation in Minneapolis earlier this year. Sosa-Celis was shot in the leg in January as part of a crackdown known as 'Operation Metro Surge.' According to reports, federal prosecutors have charged Castro with making false statements to federal investigators. He had previously faced charges in state court related to the incident.
