Colorado gubernatorial nominee discusses past podcast claim of encountering Satan

<p>Colorado's Republican gubernatorial nominee Victor Marx stated in a resurfaced podcast episode that he "met Satan in person" through another individual. The claim was first reported by Talking Points Memo, highlighting Marx's comments from a 2020 episode of his podcast.</p><p>Marx, a Marine veteran and leader of All Things Possible Ministries, described an incident that occurred while he was praying for a girl in a high-security youth prison in Texas. He recounted, "This girl started manifesting a demon" and noted that the situation was alarming enough to cause other girls in the facility to huddle in a corner.</p><p>He characterized the encounter as "horrible," stating, "This demon… just really manifested pretty nasty." When he asked the demon its name, it allegedly responded, "I am Satan." Marx emphasized, "If you think I’m joking, I’m not." He also described the girl as "just adorable" but indicated that he sensed she was possessed.</p><p>Marx recalled the demon's response to his observations, saying, "All of a sudden, this demon goes, ‘I guess you’re going to say I’m possessed.’ And I just — I just started laughing," adding, "I was like, ‘I don’t think I have to. It’s kind of obvious.’ I mean, really, that’s — I just snickered, which makes the devil mad."</p><p>Marx is the founder of All Things Possible Ministries, which focuses on spiritual, emotional, and physical liberation. After securing the GOP gubernatorial nomination earlier this summer, he gained attention for forming an all-Marine ticket with his running mate, retired Marine Col. George Markert, to address what he describes as a growing democratic socialist movement.</p><p>Marx's campaign emphasizes public safety, social conservatism, and the cost of living. He is competing against Democrat Phil Weiser, the current attorney general of Colorado, who is considered the frontrunner in the race to succeed term-limited Gov. Jared Polis.</p>
