Union Leader Endorses Republican Senator in Key Election

<p>Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien has endorsed Republican Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas in his re-election campaign, which is seen as significant for the Senate's balance of power. Marshall has proven time and time again that he is a friend of labor," highlighting Marshall's willingness to collaborate on legislation that benefits workers.</p><p>Marshall, who serves on the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, has received support from Teamsters Local 696, with its president Mike Scribner stating that Marshall is a voice for middle-class workers. O’Brien's endorsement coincides with Marshall's efforts to pass pro-labor legislation, including the Faster Labor Contracts Act and the Warehouse Worker Protection Act.</p><p>Marshall is running against Democratic nominee Adam Hamilton, the lead pastor of a large Methodist church in Kansas. Hamilton has raised approximately $4.1 million, while Marshall has raised over $6.2 million. The Cook Political Report has classified the race as "likely Republican," noting that Kansas has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since the 1930s.</p>
