Driver's Licenses Available for Sale on Dark Web Following Rental Car Incident

<p>A recent incident involving a rented SUV from a car rental company has raised concerns about identity theft. After an employee scanned the driver's license, a high-resolution scan of the ID was found for sale on the dark web within hours.</p><p>An exposé published by KrebsOnSecurity reports that the driver's license was among more than 153 million licenses available through a service called Nexus. The service reportedly includes licenses belonging to various individuals, including journalist Brian Krebs and an FBI assistant director. The scans purportedly contain multiple image files showing both the front and back of the ID, as well as images in infrared and ultraviolet spectrums, which may help counterfeit IDs pass hologram tests.</p><h2>Growing by the Day</h2><p>Nexus not only advertised the availability of driver's licenses but also offered to sell various other forms of ID.</p>
