NYPD Seeks Suspect in Assault on 90-Year-Old Woman in Brooklyn

<p>The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is searching for a suspect following an incident in which a 90-year-old woman was attacked while walking on a sidewalk in the Brighton Beach neighborhood of Brooklyn. The assault occurred around 9:47 a.m. on Monday outside 501 Brighton Beach Ave.</p><p>According to police, the woman was walking when an unidentified man approached her and threw a piece of furniture, causing her to fall to the ground before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.</p><p>Surveillance video obtained by News 12 appears to show the suspect pushing what looks like a discarded baby crib filled with debris along the sidewalk before lifting it and throwing it at the elderly woman as she walks past. The impact caused the woman to fall to the pavement while the suspect continued walking away.</p><p>Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the woman to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, where she was reported to be in stable condition.</p><p>Police have not identified a motive for the attack, and it remains unclear whether the suspect and the victim were acquainted. The suspect is still at large.</p><p>The NYPD has released a photo of the man they are seeking, describing him as wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white sneakers at the time of the incident.</p><p>Anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity or whereabouts is encouraged to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
