Judge Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, received criticism after posting a gym video on September 1, 2026. In the 19-second clip shared on X, Pirro is seen bench pressing 45 pounds for 10 repetitions, accompanied by the caption: "10 reps of 45 lbs. My morning workout preparing to fight crime in DC." The video features her speaking to the camera and playing the theme music from Rocky IV. Following the post, users online ridiculed Pirro, referencing recent legal challenges faced by her office. In November, a D.C. jury acquitted Sean Dunn, who was charged with throwing a sandwich at a Border Patrol agent. Additionally, last month, Pirro dropped charges against a former Olympian accused of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, citing flawed installation work as the cause of the damage. Some supporters of the Trump administration also criticized Pirro's focus on fitness content instead of addressing violent crime cases. Previously, President Donald Trump had expressed dissatisfaction with Pirro's handling of the Reflecting Pool case, stating she "choked" during a press gathering. Despite the backlash, Pirro continues in her role as the city's top federal prosecutor.
