Tyson Fury Confirms Fight with Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden

Tyson Fury has confirmed that his heavyweight boxing match against Anthony Joshua will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. While no specific date has been set, the fight is expected to occur in November after both fighters signed a contract with Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Fury expressed excitement about the venue, stating, "What a place, what a venue, what a fight," in a post on Instagram. However, some fans criticized the decision to hold the all-British fight in the US instead of a UK location such as Wembley Stadium. Fury, who turned 38 in August, has a professional record of 36 wins and only two losses, both to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. He returned to boxing in January after a brief retirement following his defeat to Usyk in December 2024. Previous negotiations for a fight between Joshua and Fury in 2021 fell through due to contractual disagreements and a ruling that required Fury to face Deontay Wilder. In preparation for the upcoming match, Fury fought Mariusz Wach in July, winning by retirement in a bout attended by approximately 1,500 fans in Pattaya, Thailand.
