Daejon Love arrested for impersonating 49ers player and scamming women

Daejon Love was arrested on August 24 after allegedly impersonating a San Francisco 49ers player to scam women into romance and investment schemes. He is facing two federal wire fraud charges in Oregon. According to acquaintances who played pickup basketball with Love, he initially claimed to have played professional basketball overseas. Marvelous Owens, a defensive back at Northeastern State University, shared a video on social media recounting Love's story. Owens stated that Love arrived at the gym in luxury vehicles, including a Dodge Hellcat and a Lamborghini Urus, and initially claimed to have played professional basketball overseas before switching to football. Reports indicate that 26 women have come forward, alleging that Love swindled them out of $1.3 million. Love, 35, is currently held at the Ada County Jail in Boise, Idaho, and is set to be transferred to Oregon to face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.
