<p>Matthew Berry discussed his role in reporting that Tom Brady would join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 during an interview with OutKick. He recalled that Brady announced his departure from the New England Patriots weeks before signing with Tampa Bay, with other rumored destinations including the Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts.</p><p>After the NFL Combine, Berry wrote in his annual rumors column that he believed Brady would head to Tampa. He explained, "I won’t give away my source, but I will tell you how I came across the information. I was at the NFL Combine, and it was about 2 a.m., and I was in a bar. I met somebody who worked for the Buccaneers organization."</p><p>Berry described how he and the Buccaneers official were drinking when the official mentioned, "I think we have a shot at Brady." Initially skeptical, Berry later realized the official was serious as they continued their conversation. The official indicated that Gisele Bündchen preferred a South Florida team for easier travel.</p><p>Despite initial skepticism from fans and media regarding Berry's report, Brady eventually signed with Tampa Bay and led the team to a Super Bowl victory in his first season.
