Vice President JD Vance stated on Monday that President Donald Trump "likes to switch it up on social media a little bit" in reference to an AI video Trump posted threatening Iran. Vance spoke to reporters before departing for Michigan about the video, which depicted a stylized imaginary attack on Iran's Kharg Island, a significant location for its oil exports. Trump has previously made threats regarding Iran. Vance noted that Trump "would be the first to say he doesn't make announcements about military actions on social media, but I think that he's sending a message to the Iranians."
Despite Vance's comment, Trump has a history of making military announcements and other statements via his social media account. Vance also addressed Trump's remarks regarding data centers, explaining that Trump emphasized their importance for artificial intelligence. Vance mentioned that "99% of the backlash to data centers has come in areas where building a data center means higher utility and higher electricity prices for the people on the ground." He suggested that companies constructing data centers should also build power plants to generate their own electricity, aligning with the administration's policies. Vance added, "If you build a data center, you should be putting power back into the grid, not taking it out, and if that is happening, I don't think the data centers are that controversial."
