Sullivan, a nurse from Palmer, humorously claimed to be the “real Dan Sullivan” and shared anecdotes about the advantages and challenges of sharing the name.</p><p>This is not the first instance of multiple candidates named Dan Sullivan appearing on the ballot. In 2014, Dan S. Sullivan ran for Senate while Dan A. Sullivan was running for lieutenant governor. In 2016, the former mayor briefly ran for another Senate seat.</p><p>The candidate currently drawing attention is Dan J. Sullivan from Petersburg, who filed his candidacy paperwork shortly before the June deadline. His campaign strategy includes maintaining a website and engaging on social media, although he has limited funds compared to his opponent.</p><p>The National Republican Senatorial Committee has labeled him as a “Sham Candidate,” and Senator Dan Sullivan expressed concerns about the legitimacy of the challenge, suggesting it could mislead voters. The Alaska Division of Elections initially deemed Dan J.
