A search warrant unsealed by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office indicates that data from Oura Rings worn by Jennifer Gledhill and her husband, National Guardsman Matthew Johnson, is being examined by investigators. The data pertains to the period between September 20 and October 1, 2024, which is when Johnson is believed to have been murdered. Oura Rings track time- and date-stamped GPS data, which authorities hope will help locate Johnson's body.
Photos from the day of the alleged murder show Gledhill wearing the ring, and the Utah National Guard confirmed that Johnson also owned one. Gledhill reportedly turned off her phone and other electronic devices before leaving the minivan she used to bury Johnson, complicating efforts to recover his remains.
Gledhill was arrested on suspicion of murder after allegedly confessing to her lover about the crime, although she did not reveal the location of the body. Following Johnson’s death, Gledhill reported him missing on September 28, eight days after his suspected murder. Investigators believe the incident occurred after a night of drinking and a confrontation regarding Gledhill's alleged affair.
According to investigators, Gledhill told her lover that she shot Johnson while he was asleep and subsequently concealed his body in a rooftop storage container before transporting it in their minivan. Surveillance footage captured her cleaning the vehicle after the incident. Gledhill’s parents, Thomas and Rosalie Gledhill, were also arrested and charged for allegedly assisting in covering up the crime.
